Tuesday, January 20: Democrats Abroad Florence & Villa La Pietra/NYU are hosting a non-partisan Inaugural Celebration to welcome in our new President & Vice President at Villa Sassetti (120 Via Bolognese; parking available or take bus #25 from Stazione SMN/Piazza Liberta). Details:
1:00-5:00 – Blood Drive : to do your part/reserve a slot, write events.florence@democratsabroad.it
4:00-5:30 – meet & mingle
5:30-6:30 – watch Swearing-In ceremony, toast to President Obama & Vice President Biden;
6:30-7:30- ecumenical convocation; special poetry reading; gospel choir; notable speakers
7:30-8:30 – lobby Congress: all attending Americans can write their Representatives & Senators, asking them to join the non-partisan/bicameral Americans Abroad caucus & lay out the issues of particular concern to us, Americans Abroad. The pre-printed letters can be personalized; the names of the Representative & Senators (and their addresses) for each citizen will be available.
